Summary:
The author of this article is trying to get across how to
tell if a photograph is fair use or not. S/ He doesn’t know the exact details
because s/he states that s/he isn’t a lawyer but he lays down some basic ideas
on how to not get in trouble. The long
and short of it is just to always credit the photographer, either in the caption
or at the bottom of the page. Also, if
you can, screen shot and include much of their site so people know you didn’t
take the image. S/He also states that if
you are not 100% sure, just email the photographer.
Review:
I think that this was a good article because it lays down
the easiest way to avoid copyright infringement. The author just says do this and don’t do
that and you should be okay. However, if
you don’t know you can just email the photographer. They like when you use their images but they
just want the credit so if other people like them it’ll be easy for them to
find out where the images are.
